Couch Potato Co., Ltd. (株式会社Couch Potato, hereinafter “the Company”) operates QuietLog (hereinafter “the Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
QuietLog collects the following information when you use our service:
- Account information (email address)
- Incident records (type, description, timestamps, decibel readings)
- Photos attached to incidents (EXIF metadata is removed on upload)
- Audio recordings (automatically deleted after 7 days)
- GPS coordinates (only when explicitly enabled by you)
- Property information you provide
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the QuietLog service: recording incidents, generating reports, and creating complaint letters. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
3. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security (RLS) ensuring complete data isolation between users. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
4. GPS & Location Data
GPS coordinates are collected only when you enable location services. Coordinates are included in PDF reports but are never displayed in the public UI.
5. Data Retention
- Incident records: Retained until you delete them or your account
- Audio recordings: Automatically deleted after 7 days
- Photos: Retained until you delete them or your account
- Generated reports: Retained until you delete them or your account
6. Cookies & Tracking
QuietLog uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Vercel Analytics for aggregated, anonymous usage statistics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.
7. Your Rights
You can export, modify, or delete your data at any time through the app settings. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@quietlog.app.
8. Rights for EU Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Right to data portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to restrict processing: Limit how your data is used
- Right to object: Object to processing of your data

9. Rights for California Users (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights
QuietLog does not sell personal information to third parties.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
